About the Department

Bengali as a Honours and General subject was taught from the very begining (1965) of this institution. Swami Mohananandaji Maharaj, Swami Nilanandaji Maharaj, Prof.Brahamanarayan Mukhopodhyay, Prof.Nitin kumar Mondal same of the eminent teachers of Bengali at that time.
Later many notable and recognized scholars served this department as teachers, Prof.Atanu Shasmal, Prof.Manabendranath Saha, Prof.Amartya Mukhopadhyay and others. Same of our notable alumnis are Prof.Sristidhar Das,Prof. Rajatkishor Dey, Pankaj Mondal,Kakali pal, Bhuban Mondal,Dr.Chhobi Sarkar,Dr.Suchitra Pal, Putul Ghoshal,Nandadulal Mondal, Debabrata Bhattacharya and others.
