About the Department

The Department of Philosophy of the College had been set up from the very beginning of the establishment of the college in 1965 for teaching the subject as a pass / subsidiary combination at under graduate level.
Later on the college had been permitted by the University of Burdwan to teach the subject at B.A (Honours) level also since 1996. Since inception the Department has been running with 2(Two) sanctioned teaching posts in to rank Assistant Professor.
A large number of student’s approx 300 – 350, have been admitted in this Department every year.
