Ever since the inception of Abhedananda Mahavidyalaya, the department of English has been its integral part. In the initial years the department only offered a pass course in BA (General). BA Honours in English was introduced in the 1994-95 Academic Year which saw the beginning of a new era. In the following years the department of English has successfully emerged as one of the key departments of the college in producing quality students who are currently engaged in various walks of life. At present the department has three full time and two govt. approved part time teachers to look after its educational and cultural aspects. Interpersonal relationship between the teachers and the students is one of the positive features of the department. Educated is Empowered, believing in the same, the Department’s core vision has been to create enlightened, confident individuals equipped with knowledge and sense of duty for individual growth and that of the Community.
